Erasmus+: MEPs demand more effort to include people with fewer opportunities
In a resolution adopted on Thursday, the European Parliament calls for barriers that limit the reach of the EU’s flagship programme for education, training, youth and sports to be removed. The amount of money disbursed through mobility grants is in some cases still insufficient and may lead to students who cannot afford to move to being excluded, MEPs say in a resolution adopted by 471 votes to 55 and 66 abstentions.
They call for funds assigned for inclusion measures in the Erasmus+ to be levelled up in 2023. To reach people from disadvantaged backgrounds or with specific educational or disability-related needs, more tailored funding solutions are needed, such as pre-financing, top-up grants, upfront payments and lump sums, that would help cover their needs, especially their living costs, MEPs say.

Parcoursup : Ouverture de la phase complémentaire jeudi 23 juin à 14 heures (heure de Paris)
La phase complémentaire permet aux candidats qui le souhaitent de formuler de nouveaux vœux dans des formations qui ont des places disponibles et de recevoir des propositions d’admission au fur et à mesure des candidatures. Dès le 23 juin, ils pourront consulter, via le moteur de recherche Parcoursup, les formations proposées en phase complémentaire et formuler jusqu’à 10 nouveaux vœux. Ils recevront les réponses des formations au fur et à mesure de la formulation de leurs vœux. La phase complémentaire s’adresse en particulier aux candidats qui n’ont pas encore reçu de proposition d’admission. Ces candidats bénéficient d’un accompagnement spécifique depuis le début de la phase d’admission : les équipes Parcoursup vont à nouveau prendre contact avec eux pour leur présenter les opportunités offertes par la phase complémentaire.

Les « écoles du futur » de Marseille, fragile outil face aux inégalités scolaires
A peine commencée, déjà généralisée. Emmanuel Macron a surpris la communauté éducative en annonçant, le 2 juin, lors d’un déplacement avec son nouveau ministre de l’éducation nationale, Pap Ndiaye, l’extension nationale de l’expérimentation « école du futur » conduite depuis quelques mois à Marseille. La décision de généraliser l’expérience intervient alors que les 59 écoles qui y participent sont, pour la plupart, encore dans une phase d’élaboration, avant une mise en œuvre effective à partir de la rentrée, et qu’il est difficile d’en mesurer l’impact sur la réussite des élèves. Preuve, s’il en est, que le tempo éducatif ne correspond pas au tempo politique.

Stark-Watzinger: Müssen unsere Lehrer als Dreh- und Angelpunkte der digitalen Bildung stärken
Das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) plant die Einrichtung von insgesamt vier Kompetenzzentren für digitales und digital gestütztes Unterrichten. Mit dem heute veröffentlichen Förderaufruf für ein Kompetenzzentrum im MINT-Bereich legt es dafür den Grundstein. Gefördert werden Verbundprojekte mit dem Ziel, digitalisierungsbezogene Fort- und Weiterbildungsangebote in den MINT-Fächern (Biologie, Chemie, Informatik, Mathematik, Physik, Sachkunde) zu entwickeln, zu beforschen und zum Wissenstransfer beizutragen. Dieser soll in enger Kooperation mit der Lehrkräftefortbildung in den Ländern und unter Einbeziehung der Bildungswissenschaften, Medienwissenschaften und jeweiligen Fachdidaktiken stattfinden. Das BMBF wird drei weitere Kompetenzzentren mit unterschiedlichem Fokus fördern: Sprache, Gesellschafts- und Wirtschaftswissenschaft; musisch-kreative Fächer und Sport; digitale Schulentwicklung. Eine bundesweite Vernetzungs- und Transferstelle wird als Dach fungieren, übergreifenden Forschungsaktivitäten nachgehen und wissenschaftliche Standards digitaler Lehrkräftefortbildung entwickeln.

Die Vorbereitung des nächsten Schuljahres und Auswirkungen des Kriegs in der Ukraine auf die Schulen und den Hochschulbereich, die Corona-Pandemie in der Schule sowie die Weiterentwicklung der Bildungsstandards für den Primarbereich und die Sekundarstufe I für die Fächer Deutsch und Mathematik standen thematisch im Mittelpunkt zweitägigen Plenarberatungen der Kultusministerkonferenz (KMK) am 23. und 24. Juni 2022 in Berlin. Zudem wurde die Ständige Wissenschaftliche Kommission, auf der Grundlage eines Themenkatalogs gebeten, eine Empfehlung zur Lehrkräftebildung und -gewinnung im Lichte der zentralen Rolle der Lehrkräfte für gelingende Lernprozesse zu erarbeiten.

Bildung in Deutschland 2022
Die Präsidentin der Kultusministerkonferenz (KMK) und Bildungsministerin in Schleswig-Holstein, Karin Prien, und die Bundesministerin für Bildung und Forschung, Bettina Stark-Watzinger, haben am heutigen 23.06.2022 gemeinsam mit dem Sprecher der Autorengruppe, Prof. Dr. Kai Maaz (DIPF | Leibniz-Institut für Bildungsforschung und Bildungsinformation), den Bericht „Bildung in Deutschland 2022“ vorgestellt. Der nunmehr neunte Bildungsbericht beschreibt die Gesamtentwicklung des deutschen Bildungswesens und widmet sich in seinem Schwerpunkt dem Bildungspersonal. Der Bildungsbericht erscheint alle zwei Jahre.

Schulen dürfen Microsoft-Software Teams nicht mehr nutzen
Wegen Bedenken beim Datenschutz dürfen Schulen in Rheinland-Pfalz die Microsoft-Software Teams ab dem kommenden Schuljahr nicht mehr für Videokonferenzen verwenden. Das Bildungsministerium gehe davon aus, dass dann alle Schulen auf die Teams-Nutzung verzichteten, heißt es in der Antwort auf eine Landtagsanfrage der CDU-Fraktion. Zuletzt verwendeten noch 228 der 1600 Schulen in Rheinland-Pfalz MS Teams. Bereits 604 Schulen sind nach Angaben des Bildungsministeriums beim 2021 eingeführten Schulcampus RLP mit dabei.

SPD und Grüne wollen die politische Bildung in der Hansestadt vor allem unter Kindern und Jugendlichen stärken. Man wolle «Mittel bereitstellen, um Kooperationen zwischen Schulen und Bildungsträgern in Form von Seminaren, Workshops, Bildungsfahrten und ähnlichen Formaten zu unterstützen», sagte Astrid Hennies, Bildungsexpertin der SPD-Fraktion, laut einer Mitteilung am Sonntag. Insgesamt soll eine Bestandsaufnahme der politischen Bildung initiiert werden.

Una scuola inclusiva, pienamente accessibile, aperta alla società, partecipata e attenta al benessere di chi la vive: è così che studentesse e studenti la immaginano per il futuro. Un disegno preciso e definito che è stato messo nero su bianco nel documento “La Scuola di domani”, presentato questo pomeriggio al Palazzo dell’Istruzione alla presenza del Ministro Patrizio Bianchi. Il testo è stato concepito come uno stimolo alla discussione, nell’ambito del Transforming Education Summit dell’ONU che si terrà come Pre-Summit dal 28 al 30 giugno prossimi a Parigi e, successivamente, a New York, a settembre. Obiettivo: fare emergere la voce di ragazze e ragazzi e promuovere la loro partecipazione attiva.

La nuova carriera dei prof parte azzoppata: per due anni basteranno ancora 24 crediti anziché 60 per fare il concorso
Mercoledì 22 giugno il Senato ha dato il via libera al maxi-emendamento con cui le forze di maggioranza hanno tentato di correggere alcuni dei punti più controversi del ddl sul nuovo sistema di formazione iniziale e continua degli insegnanti previsto dal Pnrr. Le modifiche più significative riguardano l’incentivo economico previsto per chi seguirà i nuovi corsi di aggiornamento professionale triennali: dopo le proteste dei sindacati – culminate nello sciopero unitario dello scorso 30 maggio – la versione approvata in Aula ha riaffermato il principio che l’entità del premio economico previsto per chi passerà l’esame di valutazione finale debba essere stabilita dalla contrattazione collettiva nazionale, fermo restando che si tratterà di un compenso una tantum, una specie di bonus, che oscillerà fra un minimo del 10 e un massimo del 20 per cento in più dello stipendio corrente.

Homes for Ukraine scheme to begin processing applications from unaccompanied children
The Homes for Ukraine scheme will allow children and minors under the age of 18 who have already applied through the Homes for Ukraine Scheme to come to the UK without a parent or guardian, the government announced today (22 June 2022).
After working closely with the Ukraine government, the changes will enable a child to apply for a visa if they have proof of parental consent. This must be certified by an authority approved by the Ukraine government, such as the Ukrainian consul abroad.

Special needs: No school places for more than 300 pupils
More than 300 children with a statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) are without a school place for September. That includes 91 children waiting for a place in a special school and 202 seeking a place in a mainstream school. The Education Authority (EA) said there had been a “significant rise” in demand for special school places. It said it was “working hard” to ensure children with SEN had “an appropriate place” for 2022/23.

English schools warn of acute teacher shortages without ‘inflation plus’ pay deal
Schools in England say they face an acute crisis over retention and recruitment without a significant pay increase, as the country’s biggest teaching union warned of strike action this autumn without an “inflation plus” deal. The threat came as new research shows that every 1% increase in pay gives a 2% boost to graduate recruitment in high-demand disciplines such as science, maths and technology.
